A Play Vignette

Characters - Store Owner (Daddy) - wants to make money, but make sure customer can take care of prospective animals; Customer (Maia), really wants to buy an exotic pet.

-----------------------------

Customer walks in the store...

Owner: "Hi, how are you today?"

Customer: "Good. I want to buy a lion cub."

"Okay, well, we interview all our customers to make sure they can take care of our exotic animals, especially a lion cub."

"Okay."

"So what is your name?"

"Misa Lisa."

"Okay Misa, do you have any experience with large animals?"

"I have a picture."

"Okay...."

[sensing that this is not enough, Misa continues]

"I mean, I own big pets."

"Like what?"

"I have a baby lion, but it won't grow up."

"What do you mean it won't grow up?"

"Its a delinga (sp?) lion, which means its a cub that doesn't grow up. It's name is Lena. I also took care of a jaguar that was really nice. Its name is Kalina."

"Okay."

"And I took care of a big wolf. I named it Trion Wolf."

"Well, lion cubs are expensive. The price is $100,000, cash only, no credit."

"I have that, here you go. I will name it Roarie, because it roars."

And Misa leaves the Exotic Pet Store with a lion cub.
