The Blessing Way by Tony HillermanMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
I got this book (along with a couple others by Hillerman) as a gift, from someone who said I should take the time to read a "non-thinking" book and relax. The book served its function well.
The story centers on a Joe Leaphorn, who is a detective with the police of the Navajo, and a Dr. Bernard McKee, who is a local college professor who has studied the Navajo traditions and, in particular, its superstitutions. With that background, Hillerman intersperses cultural knowledge of the Navajo with a down to earth murder mystery-thriller book that is easy to read and entertaining. Looking forward to digesting a couple more Hillerman books in the hopes they will be just as entertaining.

I have read Hillerman before. Sounds like my kind of book! Glad you got a non-thinking book and time to relax. 🙄
ReplyDeleteI can hold onto the books if you would be interested in reading them when you come back north.
