Thinking About Resolutions

As always, I feel that my blogging is several weeks behind where I want to be, where I am now in the third week of the year and thinking about writing some posts about New Year's Resolutions.  I am a sucker for new beginnings, those opportunities to reset, begin anew, re-focus and re-prioritize; an opportunity to reflect on yourself and your life, and think about ways to make changes and improvements, things to let go and things to pick up.

So, with the new year beginning, what am I thinking about?  Ultimately, as some later posts this week might detail, its pretty typical stuff - lose weight, be healthier, be better with money, etc. - but for me, it represents something different than those goals.  Those goals are the results of what my real focus and goal is for the new year.

My resolution, as a phrase, is to be the person I want to be.  I have an image of what I would like to be, how I would like to view myself.  My resolution for the year is to, simply, work hard at becoming that person.  I probably (hopefully) will have some posts later this week where I will reflect in more detail about what this means for me; but for now - I want to work in earnest at becoming that best version of myself.

It's time for the work to begin...
