As I've written before, a tradition of sorts that Jackie and I started shortly after we got married is we call our "Fall Family Day of Fun." Its a day where we do fun stuff associated with the Fall season (creative, I know). Some years it has included many activities, some, it has only included picking out pumpkins, depending on what else is going in life. Every year, its something I think both Jackie and I look forward and enjoy immensely. The past couple years, sharing a tradition started by us with out daughter Maia, has been even more enjoyable.
This year, we embarked on our Fall Family Day of Fun yesterday, by going to nearby Shipshewana to a new corn maze set up they had. That's how it was advertised, but we had heard from others that there was a lot to do there. And they were right. In addition to the corn maze, and being able to pick out pumpkins, there were various play stations set up for kids - not only playground equipment, but an area where they could go down a slide by first climbing up bales of hay, playing in corn (for the love of sound), human hamster wheels, along with both a hay ride and barrel train.
It was a hit. We had an absolutely beautiful day with lots of sunshine and a nice breeze, and everything associated with the day really was perfect. We could not have asked for a better day.
