Change

The promise of tomorrow,
the illustriously sought after change,
creates an ever present, perhaps false hope,
of all, that will be, desired, could be.

That unknown, a story yet unwritten,
a temptation of new beginning,
tis bait and daydream and vacuity
without commitment, action, drive.

What does it take?
To change one's story,
to rewrite one's narrative,
to overcome a hobgoblin of doubt,
to remove the visions from our imagined realities.

The promise of tomorrow,
ever present in today, deceiving motivation
to achieve consideration,
stifling change, nursing imagination.
