A tanka poem - "voyage"

On a recent trip to the Fort Wayne Zoo, we picked up a book for Maia called "Orangatanka."  The "tanka" refers to an old form of Japanese poetry similar to a haiku.  Considering my love for the haiku structure, I thought I would write some tanka poetry as well.  The first such poem is below, inspired by a recent boat cruise out on Lake Michigan...

the blue water waves
at a cloudy horizon
seeking the sun,
an endless, faithful voyage
finding life, hope, and meaning
