the journey begins

So our annual Christmas driving season starts today.  As has been documented in some other places, this has been a crazy month already.  The first weekend of the month Jackie and I were in Indianapolis.  The second weekend of the month we were up north of Grand Rapids.  Last weekend we were in Dimondale, a small suburb of Lansing.  Starting today, the adventure continues.  Down to Fort Wayne for tonight and Christmas.  Then back home.  Then over the weekend up to Lansing one more time.  Looking back and thinking about all of it, I understand why I have been so tired that last week and a half...after awhile, the traveling catches up to you.  So besides looking forward to January 3-4, where hopefully Jackie and I will be able to stay home for the first time in over a month.

I just have to remind myself to not let the driving and the stress (especially driving in bad weather, which seems to happen to us a lot) scrooge me up to much.  We get to celebrate Christmas three times, and each time its always amazing and a great reminder of the many blessings we have in our life.  We also get the added bonus this year of celebrating with my nephew for his first Christmas, so that should be a joyous time as well.

Anyway, have to start getting ready, packing, loading the car, and starting the trip down to Fort Wayne.  Here's to safe travels for everyone who is on the road for the next couple of days.
