This past Sunday night Jackie and I decided to do all of our Christmas wrapping. Its always a fun night for us, chiefly because of our personalities. I tend to be a bit overly practical on this type of stuff - i.e., why make something look nice when its just going to be ripped up, where as Jackie is always very concerned with making it look "pretty."
So, we're trying to make things look nice..and we went with just plain brown postal paper to wrap with and Jackie picked up some ribbons to make jazz it up a bit...make it look more homemade I guess (on the plus side, this actually turned out to be a cost savings as opposed to buying traditional wrapping paper).
As the top/before picture shows, it was kind of a mess.
After about four hours of cautious wrapping on my part (Jackie has high standards - it was a good thing to wrap the kid's gifts first), along with homemade name tags from Jackie and her skill with ribbons, we transformed the look of the tree surroundings. It really is amazing to think how much fun that night was...just another in a long line of reminders of how lucky I am to get to hang out with my best friend every day.
